The Orchard believes in the power of prayer. Prayer is vital to our relationship with God. It’s the way we communicate with Him. Prayer moves God’s hand, changes lives and changes history! At The Orchard we pray together, welcoming God’s presence, humbling ourselves before Him, thanking Him with a grateful heart and interceding for our church to accomplish God’s will. In 1 Thessalonians 5:17, God tells us to “pray without ceasing.” We bring our needs to Almighty God and watch Him answer in ways only He can. We know that apart from the Lord we can do nothing, but with Him all things are possible.
It is a privilege to pray. In the New Testament, we see that God commands prayer, Christ models prayer with His disciples, and the early church practices corporate prayer. “These all with one mind were continually devoting themselves to prayer…” Acts 1:14a. At The Orchard, we pray in agreement, directed by the Holy Spirit. He guides each person, uniquely bringing forth the fullness of the body of Christ. Because we know that the Word of God and prayer are powerful, we combine the two by praying Scripture for our pastors, ministries and congregation.
